You know what they say about doing the same thing over and over but expecting different results!

At Robbins we realized that in order to truly provide a superior window PermaLokWBS-001system we had to completely rethink how windows are installed in convertible tops.

Anything less would not be good enough. So we set out to develop a process that would eliminate window bond failure. The result is the PermaLok Window Bonding System. The new standard by which all tops will be measured.

Automated equipment folds the topping material around a structural metal support ring (not plastic) which is then bonded to the window glass using an ultra-high strength aerospace bonding agent. Special presses are used to hold the assembly in place until the adhesive is fully cured.

We love people, and there are a lot of great ones at Robbins, but when it comes to precision manufacturing... robots are our best friend.

Just like the car manufacturers, Robbins developed and installed robotic application systems. That is the only way to ensure the consistently correct adhesive volume, application and placement, which are critical factors in providing a lifetime bond.

All of this automated equipment adds up to one thing... each PermaLok top is constructed exactly the same way, every time. That is why you can be assured there will be no surprises with the quality when it comes time to install a Robbins PermaLok Top. This level of commitment isunmatched in the top industry.

Is that top good looking or what?

PermaLok Window System has allowed us to eliminate the stitching and piping commonly found on many bonded window tops.

This look is as close to factory original as you can get and the folded edge won't fray or peel.

You will notice and appreciate little details like the fading dot matrix around the edge of the glass and hidden bus bars on defroster models.
