Top with Green Plastic Window, No Rainguards (Original Style Top), A. S. C. Made with LONG (17 3/4 inches Overall Length) side tension cables to fit Z3 models from 12/1996-2002. Fits Z3 Models built after 12/1/1996 equipped with gas shock absorbers to help lower top. . Made with original style rear quarter vertical relief pockets added in 1997 by BMW, matching Cloth binding, topstitched seams and black extrusion sewn around green plastic window (No Zipper).

CAUTION: Severe abrasion of topping, which may lead to cuts and holes developing in tops, and severe creasing of plastic windows can occur due to the design of the top frame assembly, body components and top. Robbins cannot be held responsible for any damage caused by the problems described above.

WARNING: Regarding Z3 Cables: We have found that BMW s documented change period (12/1996) from SHORT cables to LONG cables is not absolute. 

Factory original material, with stitched deck seams and matching binding. Includes a green tinted heavy guage [sewn-in] plastic window in faqctory style green. Stitched and sealed deck seams and matching edge binding. You also get new steel hold down cables. Note: This version is made as original without rain guards.

Z3 top frame tension straps are made of nylon webbing and elastic, and are almost always too degraded to reuse. Since the top must be removed to replace them, the best time to do it is during top replacement. See "Z3 BOWSTRAPS".

Made with LONG (OAL 17¾" / 45 CM) OEM style side tension cables to fit Z3 models from 12/1996-2002. These new hold down cables and replacement metal clips are included with your purchase.

In 1998, BMW redesigned the convertible top as follows to improve certain deficiencies in earlier models. All of our Z3 convertible tops include these important improvements. 

  1. Added Relief Pockets in the lower rear quarter panels.
  2. Added a Stiffener above the rear window.
  3. Added Elastic Straps above the rear window to support the tension straps.
